The subject matter of my project is a film festival in Pittsburgh that is based on John Hughes and four of his top movies from the 1980’s. I picked my favorite movies, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I chose this subject because I have seen and love all these movies, so I was really interested in using this as my subject matter for the project. I created all my illustrations in Illustrator. I chose the colors white, black, hot pink, and light pink because these colors occurred throughout several of the four chosen movies. I created a tee shirt to be sold at the event, and a fanny pack and five pins; which you get the fanny pack and one pin when entering the event and get the other four for each movie you see. I also created a poster, four tickets for each event, and a brochure giving information about the event, John Hughes, and each movie. I used the fonts Hauser Condensed for the HHSH logo and the numbers for the dates and Verdana for the smaller text and body copy. I found the pictures online from the brochures of the stills of the movies.
